It’s been such a blessing to spend the last 7 days in your midst. We watched your resilience in the face of adversity, your generosity in the face of scarcity, and your care for one another in the face of your own distress. The CrossWalk volunteer team have been both humbled and inspired by you.
We also could not have served as many people, or distributed as much food and water without the open-handed support of the wider community. We are extremely grateful for their generosity.
On Thursday we are transferring our food distribution service to the supervision of Lismore South Public School. Our service was short term emergency care until something more sustainable could be achieved. We are excited to see that, as the community begins to rebuild, the school will play a centralised role in this.
We will still be in the community in a less obvious way, helping as individual volunteers whilst you work towards rebuilding. If there is anyway we can be of specific assistance, please don’t hesitate to get in contact.
